Associate Superintendent of HR - Tim Nootenboom
Human Resources is the heart of any organization, and Tim Nootenboom is honored to serve CVSD in this capacity. The work that his team leads in Human Resources and Operations is about strengthening systems that support our staff, schools, and ultimately, our students every day.
Tim has served as a CVSD leader since 2009 with fourteen additional years of education experience prior to that. Three of his four children proudly graduated from this district. Therefore, he and his family are deeply committed to building upon its tradition of excellence. Below are a few of the various areas that Tim oversees.
- Personnel Management & Staffing
- Oversees recruitment, hiring, transfers, evaluations, and employee discipline. Develops and monitors staffing allocations in collaboration with principals and supervisors.
- Employee & Labor Relations
- Serve as a hearing officer for complaints, address concerns from staff and the community, and support labor-management relations and bargaining with employee associations.
- HR Leadership & Team Management
- Provides leadership for the HR team, supervises and evaluates assigned staff and develops orientation or training programs for employees.
- Legal Compliance & Policy Administration
- Ensures adherence to state and federal laws, district policies, and procedures. Works with legal counsel and administrators on employee leaves, discipline and terminations.
- Payroll, Benefits, & Fiscal Oversight
- Collaborates with the Business Office to manage employee payroll and benefits data, oversee unemployment claims, and manage HR budgets and fiscal resources.
- Workers’ Compensation & Leave Administration
- Monitors and oversees Workers’ Compensation and Labor and Industry claims and manages employee leave cases in compliance with regulations.
- Data, Reporting & Systems Management
- Prepares and submits required district, state and federal reports. Oversees the automated substitute calling system and related staffing functions.
- Leadership of Operational Departments
- Works with and provide leadership to operational department leaders, including the Executive Directors of Technology and HR and Operations ensuring alignment with district goals and effective workforce management.
- Executive Leadership & Strategic Planning
- Actively participates as part of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, leads HR initiatives that align with district goals, and assumes additional duties as needed.
