  • CVSD offers remarkable educational opportunities.
  • 91.2% extended graduation rate remains higher than state (86%) and national averages.
  • CVSD added a complete Associate of Arts (AA) degree program in the high school together with our higher ed partners, first offered last year at University HS and expanding to Central Valley and Ridgeline high schools in the fall.
  • The district offers a financial literacy program with opportunities in all our K-12 schools, where students learn about personal financial management.
  • All Central Valley high schools have a student-run credit union, powered by GESA, previously started at Spokane Valley Tech, added to RHS last year and next fall at CVHS, MPHS and UHSencouraging financial skills among all high school students.
  • All grade 7-8 science teachers are now Career and Technical Education (CTE) certified and able to teach CTE-focused science across our entire district, giving middle school students a jump start on their education.
  • Automotive program offered at University HS, where students learn mechanical and auto body skills.
  • A distinct construction wood shop is showcased at Horizon Middle School, with another intro to engineering program added at Bowdish, and construction and manufacturing programs at the three comprehensive high schools and Spokane Valley Tech.
  • Hands-on learning at the Skills Center at Spokane Valley Tech (SVT) in biomed/biotech, engineering, manufacturing, computer science, emergency medical technician (EMT), fire science, environmental innovations and a teaching academy.
