Executive Director of Human Resources & Operations - Corey Groh
Human Resources and Operations are essential to a thriving school district, and Corey Groh is proud to lead these efforts at Central Valley School District. Under his leadership, the HR and Operations teams work to strengthen systems that support staff, schools, and ultimately, student success.
Corey began his work in public education in 2011. Since joining CVSD’s leadership team in 2015, he has leveraged both private sector and school district experience to enhance operational efficiency and workforce management. He brings a diverse background to his role, having previously served in CVSD’s Business Services department for six years. As a proud parent of two CVSD students and the spouse of a neighboring district teacher, his commitment to education extends beyond his professional role, his family is deeply invested in the success of CVSD and the broader educational community.
Areas of Leadership
- Human Resources & Talent Management
- Leads personnel functions with a focus on classified staff, including recruitment, hiring, transfers, evaluations, and employee discipline.
- Collaborates with principals and supervisors to develop and monitor staffing allocations.
- Employee & Labor Relations
- Serves as a hearing officer for employee concerns and complaints.
- Supports labor-management relations, negotiations, and collaboration with employee associations.
- HR Leadership & Development
- Provides strategic leadership for the HR team, supervises staff, and develops training and onboarding programs.
- Legal Compliance & Policy Oversight
- Ensures adherence to federal and state regulations, district policies, and employment laws.
- Works with legal counsel on employee leaves, discipline, and terminations.
- Workers’ Compensation & Leave Administration
- Oversees Workers’ Compensation claims, Labor & Industries cases, and employee leave management.
- Operational Leadership
- Provides executive oversight for operational departments, including Nutrition Services, ensuring alignment with district goals and effective workforce management.
- Executive Leadership & Strategic Planning
- Serves as a key member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, leading HR and Nutrition Services initiatives that support the district’s mission and long-term goals.
