Summer School Opportunities

CVSD is pleased to offer both credit-recovery and online credit-advancement summer school opportunities. This page provides details on both programs. 
 

Are you interested in virtual learning?Credit Advancement Summer School

Credit Advancement Summer School is for students who want to get ahead in credits or courses and for students who wish to improve their passing grade (D or better) in courses previously taken.
 
 

Important Dates & Info:

  • Mandatory Virtual Orientation  Friday, June 19, 2026  
    (A link to the Virtual Orientation will be emailed to students and parents using the email addresses from the registration form.)
  • Credit Advancement Summer School Dates: 
    • June 22 - July 10. No School on July 3. 
  • Open to rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors - Classes of 2027 - 2030.
  • Students may only enroll in one course for credit advancement; there is insufficient time to complete 2!
  • Fees must be paid before summer school starts, or students will be withdrawn.
  • This is not a credit retrieval program. If students need to make up a failed course, register for Credit Retrieval Summer School.

CVSD Credit Retrieval

Important Dates & Info:
  • Mandatory Parent Meeting: 
    • June 2026 TDB
  • Summer School Dates: 
    • 2026 TDB (No school on July 4th or the nearest weekday.)
  • Daily Schedule: 
    • 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Location:
    • Mica Peak High School 15111 E Sprague, Spokane Valley, WA 99037

  • Note on Registration: 
    • Students needing an elective should select 'elective' on the registration form. We’ll work through placements from the counselor sheet as they need them.
  • Schedules:
    • Class schedules will be posted to PowerSchool before the first day of summer school so students know where to go.
