Delivering on CVSD’s promise to prioritize safety and security for Central Valley students, staff and families is a top priority for both the district and community.
CVSD is accelerating the projects planned as part of the capital projects levy supported by voters on February 13, 2024 with direct impact to safety at our schools. By starting the projects sooner, not only does the Central Valley community benefit from projects earlier than planned, but we are saving taxpayer money by avoiding increases in construction costs.
CVSD is finalized five of the ten school safety entrances in the summer of 2025 with the remainder completed in the summer of 2026—five years ahead of schedule. The summer of 2025 completed new vestibules for Broadway, Liberty Lake and Progress Elementary Schools; Summit School and Greenacres Middle School in addition to a new roof. Now for the summer of 2026, Adams, McDonald, South Pines and University Elementary Schools will be complete as well as Bowdish Middle School, which also is receiving a new roof.Adding safety vestibules provides an additional layer of security, ensuring a more controlled and secure process for admitting guests into schools.
The district is thankful for the Central Valley community in placing their trust in CVSD and will continue to deliver on its promises stated to our community during the levy.
