It is important to know that each individual paraeducator requires different trainings, are at a different place in their training and have completed different things throughout the past few years. What one paraeducator in your school is training on may not be the same training that you require.

General Paraeducator Certificate

Upon completion of the Fundamental Course of Study, Washington State has mandated that all paraeducators complete an additional 70 clock hours to obtain their Paraeducator General Certificate. Central Valley School District will offer suggestions of trainings that satisfy the 14 hours of General Certificate training. These clock hours must be obtained through an approved clock hour provider.  Central Valley School District is committed to serving our paraeducators' continuing professional development requirements.  See the list of courses below that can be used toward the General Certificate.
