Businesses and industry leaders in the Spokane Valley region are encouraged to partner with Central Valley Schools to help shape the next generation of professionals. Engage Students with Your Expertise

Host or Sponsor a Field Trip or Virtual Tour
Invite students to learn about your operations, employee roles, and day-to-day functions. Answer their questions and inspire curiosity about your industry.

  • Time Commitment: 40 minutes (virtual) up to 3 hours (on-site).

Be a Guest Speaker
Share your career journey, expertise, and industry insights. Inspire students in person or online and answer their questions during a Q&A session.

  • Time Commitment: Approximately 40 minutes.
 

Become a Classroom Partner

Offer Job Shadows
Welcome sophomores or juniors to spend a day experiencing your industry firsthand. Show them what a "day-in-the-life" looks like.

  • Time Commitment: 4–8 hours.

Host an Internship
Provide juniors or seniors with hands-on work experience through internship opportunities.

  • Time Commitment: Variable, based on internship structure.
 

Inform and Inspire CTE Teachers

Join an Advisory Committee
Collaborate with CTE teachers to shape programs by sharing industry trends, advising on curriculum, and recommending improvements to facilities and equipment.

  • Time Commitment: Meet at least three times a year for 1–2 hours per session.

Offer a Teacher Externship
Provide CTE teachers with immersive experiences in your workplace so they can bring real-world relevance back to their classrooms.

  • Time Commitment: Variable.
 

Mentor  

Guide students on class projects, advise on post-secondary options and help them explore career pathways in your industry.

  • Time Commitment: Flexible based on mentoring needs.
