Guidelines for Students with Life-Threatening Allergies

We have prepared these guidelines as an overview of how life-threatening allergies should be addressed in the Central Valley schools. It lists a variety of resources and suggests how parents, students and staff can work together to create a safe and healthy environment in our school district. Each situation is unique and needs to be addressed with a team approach.

Washington state law (RCW 28A.210.320), requires that all students with life threatening health conditions have the needed medical orders, medication/equipment and a nursing care plan in place before the child may attend school.

Any comments, ideas, or feedback may be directed to your building principal or the School Nurse Specialist for the district, Cheryl Sampson, at 228-5522.
