Last Resort Childcare
Available starting September 9, 2020.
Alternate care arrangements are particularly important for our medical workers and first responders serving vital functions during this pandemic. To support critical infrastructure, our district will provide last resort childcare for K-6 children whose parents are healthcare workers, first responders, military personnel, pharmacy workers, and grocery store workers, if needed.
Members of the healthcare workforce, as defined by the Washington State Medical Association, includes people who work in any setting where healthcare services, long-term care, long-term services and supports, or personal care are delivered. This includes, but is not limited to, hospitals, clinics, behavioral health centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult family homes.
First responders, as defined in WA RCW 70.54.430, includes firefighters, law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel, as licensed or certificated by the state.
