Surveys: Sense of Belonging
“Sense of Belonging” Survey - Grades 2-8
The “Sense of Belonging” survey allows 2nd-8th grade students to assess how much they feel that they belong within their school environment. Students will be asked to respond to over a dozen questions that help schools measure the degree to which students feel integrated into the school culture. The survey is taken anonymously and individual student data will not be collected.
Students will be asked to rate their agreement to various statements like “I feel like I’m a part of my school” or “People at my school notice when I am good at something” on a scale with 1 being “not true at all” and 5 “being completely true”. This survey utilizes a Psychological Sense of School Membership Scale. The results of this survey will help schools examine the impact of their effort in creating a culture of belonging for all students.
