We appreciate your continued patience as we work through this unprecedented time together.
As you know, for many of our students, school is the best place for them to be on a daily basis. This week, our COVID numbers for both students and staff are at their highest. While the numbers have changed, our commitment to provide in-person learning to the greatest extent possible has not, while still providing a safe learning environment by following our protocols.
We continue to closely monitor both the number of cases and absences in our schools on a daily and sometimes hourly basis. If we have to close a classroom or a school based on the total number of cases or staff shortages, we will give you as much advance notice as we are able.
We are prepared with Chromebook devices for every student, if we need to move to virtual learning. We will make that decision with the utmost thought and care for all our staff and students. We believe that seeing our students each day — whether in person or virtually – is vitally important. We are also committed to doing everything we can to keep our students safe.
Due to current transportation staffing challenges, there’s potential for transportation delays. In the event we cannot staff all routes, drivers will do a double route to cover the impacted route and accommodate getting students to school and back safely. Should this happen, we’ll communicate directly with those impacted as soon as possible and you can always check our route status webpage for current route delays and/or temporary changes, if any. The CVSD transportation team continually monitors bus routes and will make adjustments as necessary for route effectiveness and student safety.
Please help us by staying at home if you are not feeling well or showing symptoms of any type of illness.
- Current 5-day isolation and quarantine requirements
- Reminder: we have a test to stay protocol where staff and students with a negative test are able stay in school.
- Should you have any questions, please contact your school’s principal or your school’s COVID supervisor.
We will continue to keep you informed as we progress through this week. Thank you for doing your part in helping keep all of our students and staff safe and healthy.
