CVSD expects to fully open on a normal school schedule for the fall of 2021. At this time, symptom attestation tickets and temperature checks will not be required. Mask requirements are state mandated in schools for all students and staff. However, not all final requirements for the prevention of COVID-19 have yet been determined.

We expect the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) final requirements for fall to come later this summer. DOH indicates they will have a more comprehensive update in consideration of Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations.

We will update our CVSD families as soon as we have new information for fall. As always, we will continue to provide options for our families for student learning.

An Update from Superintendent Small:

School districts across the state of Washington are under a mandate by the Department of Health and by Proclamation of Governor Inslee to have all students and staff wear masks indoors at school.

The mandates that Washington State public schools must follow will be issued by the Governor and/or Department of Health. We have actively advocated for a return of those decisions to local school boards.

We will be presenting plans for opening schools this fall at our school board meetings in August and will include discussion regarding masks.
