World Languages
High School: Grades 9-12Central Valley School District high school students have the choice of attaining skills in French, German and/or Spanish. All three language options focus on the four cornerstones of language acquisition--listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The textbooks used for World Language courses are an integral part of daily instruction.
- Spanish text: Realidades by Prentice/Hall
- French text: Discovering French by McDougal Littell
- German text: Geni-A1, A2, B1 by Langenscheidt
German 196, "Conversation & Culture", uses the text Deutsche und Legenden
College texts for Spanish, French, and German 103 (or their equivalents) coincide with those at Eastern Washington University
Each textbook has on-line components for student tutorial and other uses as assigned by individual teachers.
