School Day

The school year at University High School is divided into three 60-day grading periods called trimesters. Students take up to four academic classes and Tutorial/Advisory Period (TAP) each trimester. All four periods meet each day of the week.

Three days a week -- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday -- TAP meets between periods one and two for 25 minutes. On these days school begins at 7:35 a.m. and ends at 2:15 p.m.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, first period begins at 8:30 a.m. From 7:35 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. is Student Access Time. Students can meet with teachers for help with class work or to make up missed assignments, quizzes, or tests. Clubs also meet during Student Access Time. The school day ends at 2:15 p.m.
