GRADE CATEGORY EXPLANATIONS

Exam / Quiz Grading Policy

-           All chapter exams will be curved to the highest score out of all current classes taking the exam.

-           Quizzes and the Final will not be curved.

Coursework Grading Policy

-                     There are two categories of work in this group, accuracy work and completion work.

-                      Completion work is the daily type of activities in class and out of class.  This includes daily intro work, group type assignments etc where answers are readily available.  Scores will be assigned based on percent of worksheet completed, NOT whether answers were correct or not, although a VALID attempt at the answers must be made.  (rational some concepts need time to be learned)

-                     Accuracy work will be assignments where the answers are corrected.  (rational;  the work serves as a self check to monitor preparedness for exam). . Assignments such as chapter reviews and outlines fall into this category.

Final Grading Policy

-           The final will be cumulative and will be scored to be worth 10% of your course grade.

Policies for Make-up or Late Work

MAKE UP WORK

There are no lab make - ups.  You will be required to interview four students and write of summary of lab activities.  Direction sheets are in the assignment crate.  Look under “Lab Make-up” near the back of the crate
