Mr. Matheison
Classroom Environment
The classes I teach are intended as lab based classes where we will also have extensive practice on paper with the math concepts associated with physical science. My goal is to add as many real life connections to your science experience as I can, ask questions, work hard and enjoy.
I teach all of my classes in one of the chemistry rooms, which allow us to have lots of space with sinks, natural gas and computers for use in our labs. With this in mind the students are allowed to have drinks in sealable plastic containers, but no food is allowed.
Schedule
This year I have Advanced placement chemistry, chemistry 1 & 2
About Me
I have been teaching secondary science since 1998, prior to that I spent 8 years as a chemical engineer in the paper industry. I have bachelor's degrees from the University of Washington in chemical engineering and forestry and a Master's in Education from Western Washington. I have three children in Central Valley schools and I look forward to the opportunity to help your children explore science.
