CMIC 2B
Contemporary Mathematics in Context – Course 2B builds upon the theme of mathematics as sense-making. Through investigations of real life contexts, students develop a rich understanding of important mathematics that makes sense to them and, in turn, enables them to make sense out of new situations and problems. Students will investigate and apply algebraic and geometric concepts surrounding exponents, ratios and proportions, similarity, trigonometric ratios, probability, and reasoned arguments. Students will also write and communicate mathematically, work cooperatively with others and individually to solve problems, and apply technology to mathematical problem solving.
