The beginning of this course explores Colonialization and the two major types of colonists. The first major work is Arthur Miller's "The Crucible." This play is acted out in class and every student gets an opportunity to participate in the study of this chapter of American life.
The later part of American Literature I includes the study of Twain's, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
