Dear 1st and 2nd period English Crimson Students
We have been given an amazing opportunity! As you know, Columbia Pictures is planning on remaking the movie that you just watched, My Fair Lady. The producers, Duncan Kenworthy and Sir Cameron Mackintosh just happen to be two extremely close imaginary personal friends of mine. Their appreciation and admiration of strong persuasive “Jane Shaffer/I SERC U” writing, has lead them to “ask” each of you two write a persuasive letter to them (in proper business format) persuading them as to who they should select for the lead parts of Eliza Doolittle and Professor Henry Higgins. You may also, if you desire, comment on who should reprise the roles of Colonel Hugh Pickering, Alfred P. Doolittle, and Freddy Eynsford-Hill. (Note: The names of the actors who appeared in the original 1964 musical appear below.) As time is always important in the film industry, it is imperative that you have your typed letters completed and handed to me on Wednesday, November 12, 2008.
