Prerequisite- Minimum 2.5 GPA, good attendance.  Two-trimester course.  Students must enroll in at least the first two courses.

Grade- 11, 12

Students who are considering a career in teaching will find this course exciting, challenging, and enriching.  This class is designed to help students develop skills in any career choice.  Students are able to explore the teaching profession through classroom activities, observation, class discussions, creative lesson planning, guest speakers, and practice teaching.   Students will be trained to serve as interns and role models to help tutor and teach other students.  Students will select the grade level of students they are most interested in working with.  Students will provide their own transportation to field sites.  Students can also earn college credits.

1st trimester of course: Classroom component and observations.

2nd, 3rd, & 4th trimesters of course: Classroom observations and practicum in a school setting. Students will leave U-High campus and go to area elementary schools.
