Greenacres Middle School Orchestra's

Course Description: Students who play stringed instruments will rehearse and perform music from orchestra traditions, chamber music and solo literature, jazz and world folk music. String techniques and fundamentals will be taught and applied to performance. Students will learn to collaborate on musical projects and demonstrate understanding. The class will perform in local and regional festivals, concerts, and competitions. Rehearsals in and out of school required.

Dear Parents and Students

          The Orchestra students of Greenacres   Middle School would like to ask for your help and participation. Currently, we are half way to our goal on raising enough money to buy a Cello. The Orchestra’s would like to make a Gift Basket that we could raffle off at the schools 50’s dance on May 18^th. We are asking for donations for the basket. What we are looking for is donations in gift certificates, items, products, etc. If you own a company, work for a company, anything, the orchestra would greatly appreciate anything. For example, we already have a $100 sample kit from Mary Kay to start the basket. I am hoping to be able to make a His and a Her basket. Please get back to me if you are able to help. If we can make this work, we should be able to reach our goal to get at least one new Cello for our Orchestra program.
