Central Valley High School Chamber Orchestra

Course Description: Students who play stringed instruments will rehearse and perform music from orchestra traditions, chamber music and solo literature, jazz and world folk music. String techniques and fundamentals will be taught and applied to performance. Students will learn to collaborate on musical projects and demonstrate understanding. The class will perform in local and regional festivals, concerts, CVHS musicals, community services, gigues, and competitions. Rehearsals in and out of school required. This ensemble is AUDITION ONLY! Rehearsals are offered during 0 hour. Students are allowed to be part of both the Conert and Chamber Orchestra, but you must at least have 1 years of experience before you are allowed to perform only in the Chamber Orchestra. This ensemble only has room for 16 memebers ONLY! 8 Violins, 4 Violas, 3 Cellos, and 1 Bass. This class is graded upon Performances (50% of grade) and Classroom Participation (50% of grade).
