October News
Math: Unit 2: Using Numbers and Organizing Data. Landmark terms covered as well as bar graphs. Test is Thursday, October 9th. Keep studying the multiplication tables. Family letters for Unit 3 can be viewed from my website.
Reading: Our current Memory Bag project is due October 17th. The genre for our next book project is Historical Fiction. The purpose of reading a book in this genre is to give/support background knowledge needed to create the pioneer project. Students may choose to make a log cabin, a train or a covered wagon to be brought in on Monday December 15th.
Writing: Our focus for writing will be the “COST” menu. In a few weeks you should be able to ask your child what it takes to earn a “4” in writing.
Science: Start working on the study guide for the end of the unit test right now (especially the vocabulary). It is located at the back of the yellow Science workbook. Students are encouraged to take these books home as long as they remember to bring them back to class each day.
