Voyagers

The Voyager House is made up of three base camp classes.  The four base camp teachers are Mrs. Hagen, Mrs. Blechschmidt, Mr. Powell and Ms. Mourant.  The Voyagers have 3 Expeditions each year.  The Expeditions for 2004-05 were Election 2004, the Human Body and Exploring Washington.  As a part of the third Expedition, the Voyagers went on a one week cross state trip to Camp Orkila on Orcas Island.  The emphasis of the trip was Marine Ecology. 

All state GLEs for reading writing and science are covered in the Expeditions.  Math is covered by using the district adopted "Connected Math" series.  Mr. Powell is in charge of the Math curriculum.  Ms. Mourant takes care of the Science GLEs, Mrs. Hagen makes sure that the Reading, Writing and Social Studies GLEs are covered inthe Expeditions.  PE is covered by swimming lessons and water sports at the YMCA.  All Voyagers participate in team sports during the year, and in the spring we go jogging along the Centennial Trail.
