EXPEDITION
Expeditions are units of study that are centered around a compelling topic and guiding questions. All investigations within an expedition are building knowledge in order to better answer the guiding question.
Information about our expeditions will be added throughout the year as we increase our knowledge!
Energy Investigation
Energy is the ability to do work. Navigators are learning about energy and types of alternative energy sources. Find out from your child all about solar, wind, and water power.
Please join us for the Summit School Ecology Fair September 30, 2008, from 1:45-2:30 pm. We look forward to seeing you. Please check the invitation for more information.
Navigating the Sky: Sun, Moon, and Stars
Navigators are so excited to start learning about the sun, moon, and stars! We will be discovering how the sky changes throughout the days, months, and years because of the way the rotations in our solar system work.
We will be doing a Navigator campout October 23 and 24 to observe the sunset, moon, stars, and sunrise. This will be a very important part of our expedition. Information including FAQ, packing lists, and permission slips will be coming home soon. Please keep checking the website for more information.
NASA has some great pages for kids on their site to explore and learn more about our universe. They also have a page with daily pictures of our universe that are incredible!
