In 2000/01 the district received 75% of its revenues from the state, 21% locally and 4% federally. Total budget for the 2000/01 school year is $72,808,981, which averages an expenditure of $6,236 per student.

 

School Goals
1. Enhance student respect and responsibility for oneself, others, and property as well as self discipline.
2. Continue to monitor and increase security and safety for all of South Pines, especially our children.
3. Improve student writing skills to meet or exceed the Washington State Essential Learning Requirements.
4. Continue to increase our awareness of, access to, and use of technology in our school, including all classrooms, students, and parents.

 

Noteworthy Achievements/Programs/Events

PTSA activities including SPLASH, (South Pines League of Adult Student Helpers); Playground equipment, Bike helmet fitting and safety practices; Educational programs, (including Pacific Science Center, Pioneer Days, Book Fair, and Scholastic Book Club), and a server in our library to enhance computer use.

  Greatly improved communications equipment throughout our building including a telephone in each classroom with voice mail capabilities.

  The Remarkable Recess program introduced to our students to structure some of our recess.
