School Goals

Liberty Lake Elementary established five major goals for the 2000-2001 school year.

  1.      The staff will continue to enhance student learning through the use of technology.

  2.      The staff will continue to review, evaluate, and set goals toward students’ improvement in the areas of reading, math and writing.  We will implement the Reading Counts program this year.

  3.      The staff will continue to evaluate the state and local academic standard test results and then set goals for our building.  The staff will become trained in the Toolkit program.

  4.      The staff will continue to stress the district Strategic Goal relating to showing respect and responsibility.

  5.      The staff will actively participate in collaboration with our community businesses, forming a strong and effective partnership between school and business.

Noteworthy Achievements/Programs/Events

This has been the best year ever for Liberty Lake Elementary.  After being open for three years we have definitely settled into a strong and healthy pace.  Academically, scores are very string.  We will continue to set high standards for the students at school.  Parent support continues to be very strong.  Leadership by parents in our PTSA continues to set a positive pace for the school.  With more than 225 volunteer parents coming into the building on a regular basis, our school is like an “open book” to our parents.  All their help and assistance is greatly appreciated.  For the second year in a row we have been successful at writing a Bill Gates technology grant.  This amounts to nearly $20,000.00 in grant funds in the last two years.  I have never worked with a better group of people.  Their commitment to children is the best. We have completed a major musical program at every level in the school.  Our Family Nights sponsored by the PTSA were a huge success.  My  program to help “Getting back to Family” involved more than 250 families that found out that evenings without TV could really be a great time for families to get back together.
