We
will ensure opportunities for successful learning
according to each student’s needs and abilities.
This will be achieved through a partnership of
students, families, school, business, and government
by setting high expectations, fostering
self-discipline, respect, responsibility, and
promoting life-long learning.

Keystone is a learning, caring place where we treat others with
courtesy, kindness and respect. At Keystone, we work and play safely
while striving to do our best.
The
Keystone staff believes that learning occurs for all
children in an environment that meets changing needs and
focuses on the development and education of the whole
child.
We believe
children need to think critically and solve problems. We
encourage children to be life long learners and
participate successfully in society.

Dear
Parents and Community:
Keystone
Elementary School and staff continue to strive to meet the needs of all
students. As a cohesive
teaching staff, we have analyzed those needs and have taken sweeping
measures to focus on our teaching goals.
The “portrait of the CV Learner,” which reflects our Central
Valley Strategic Plan and the State Essential learnings, guides us as we
support students in their learning process.
We teach purposefully as we strengthen and continue to emphasize
all academic areas throughout our direct instructions.
We offer open concept and multi-age classrooms, both of which
allow students an opportunity to learn in situations which provide the
best education for our students.
Our
PTA Board functions with staff and community as a leadership team for
school improvement. Members
and committee chairs give input and support to program development and
have made huge efforts to uphold our school goals and needs.
We have also received strong support from our business partners,
Washington Mutual Bank, which supports our school as a business partner
in banking as well as supporting our school activities; and, Mr. Noble
of Longhorn Barbecue, who
supports our birthday, academic awards program, and CKRS awards along
with community activities.
This
year we have been working as a staff team to integrate our State
Essential Learnings, coordinate our teaching activities to reflect the
learnings, and to keep reinforcing our writing program withThinking Maps
training.
We
(staff, students, parents, and community) are working together to be
more effective communicators, complex thinkers, and problem solvers
through mutual respect and collaboration.
The
care, joy, and pride we share at Keystone is felt whenever one enters
our school. Please come
and
visit.
Sincerely,
Val Anderson
Principal
