High School
Barker High strives to
provide an environment of mutual respect where
students can experience success, improve basic
skills, and practice responsible behavior.
We understand that many students who
are unable to continue their education in a
traditional school setting, still have the
desire to obtain a high school diploma.
The classes focus on discussions and
related projects, which allows students to
interact and determine the pace of their
learning. In addition, we have an
individualized approach offered via the on
campus Nova Net lab. Barker High School is a fully accredited, full day, five
day per week program. Afternoon and evening
classes are also available.
The teachers are all certified
educators and provide quality curriculum.
The class sizes are significantly
smaller, ranging from 15 to 25 students.
Barker High School serves students in
grades 9-12.
There is usually a waiting list and to
enroll, the student and parent must go through
an interview process to determine if the
program will meet their educational needs.
Student expectations include: display
respect for all age groups on campus (infants,
small children, adults, and peers), take
responsibility for learning and work habits,
maintain academic focus, attend school
regularly and participate positively in the
learning environment.
4 ACES (Alternative
Curriculum & Educational Support)
The 4 ACES program was
created for students who are credit deficient,
or who could not attend regular high school
classes.
Each student meets on a regular basis
with a certified teacher to receive learning
packets, individual help, assignments and
project direction.
The student is expected to work
independently away from the school setting
between appointments with the teacher.
When students complete the required
course work, they are eligible for credits
towards graduation.
