In 2000/01 the district received 75% of its revenues from the state, 21% locally and 4% federally. 

 

School Goals

1. Students will meet or exceed local and state academic standards

2. Adams Elementary will develop a plan of consistent, ongoing staff training to aid in the implementation of new teaching strategies brought about by new curriculum adoptions, technology, and Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements.

3. Implementation of School Wide Discipline Plan that rewards students for exceeding expectations, reinforces the district wide theme of respect, and encourages effort, self- discipline and responsible behavior.

 

Noteworthy Achievements/Programs/Events

   

Ø       The Adams Elementary staff has made a commitment to implement a system of ongoing and consistent staff training called Micro-sessions.

Ø      Under the direction of our Art Coordinator, we have a fine Art Gallery in our hallways to display student work.

Ø      A building-wide Science Fair and after school science workshops (through the “SMART” program) have provided children with extended learning experiences.

Ø      A strong PTSA organization also provides a healthy variety of cultural enrichment activities and family nights for our students and parents.

Ø      We Care Sports – making learning fun, providing successful experiences and showing alternative activities for self-challenge.

Ø      A mediator program that facilitates problem solving and treating each other with respect on the playground.

·        PTSA Board – Our parents are our partners and these fine people are willing to give of their time and energy to enhance our children’s education.  Our PTSA board has provided service above and beyond the call of duty.
