Many students from our three high schools attend the Spokane Skills Center, a learning environment offered in cooperation with nine Spokane area school districts.

Educational Centers

  • Central Valley Kindergarten Center – 1512 N Barker Road
Educating all kindergarten students from Greenacres and Liberty Lake elementary schools, the facility offers AM/PM and All-Day Kindergarten options.
  • Barker Learning Center – 13313 E. Broadway Avenue
Offering a variety of programs to support learning for students age 14+ including special education alternative high school, special programs and Barker High School.
  • Central Valley Early Learning Center – 9th & Herald
Offering a variety of early childhood programs including pre-school and child care, the site of the former University High also houses a portion of the district’s bus fleet. The facility is also home to the Even Start program and Native American Education Program. With state approval, Central Valley has used the site to house K-12 students displaced by the remodeling of their home school.

Summer School
The district operates a Summer School for students entering grades 1-12. Information is posted each spring about the coming summer program.

Student Parent Alternative Classroom Experience (SPACE)
Housed in South Pines Elementary School, the Student Parent Alternative Classroom Experience (SPACE) Program attracts students in grades K-5 and families from across the Central Valley School District. Parents are involved in their child’s education, volunteering a minimum of 75-100 hours per parent during the school year. SPACE offers a spirit of community where families connect with each other and their classroom teachers in a way that enrich all involved. Fund raising efforts support education-enhancing activities such as extra field trips, technology and classroom materials. Call 927-2892, for more information.

School Report Cards
A report card for each Central Valley school is posted on the Washington State Report Card website, maintained by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. You will find general information about school demographics, student academic performance and staff characteristics on this site, which is updated each summer to reflect the most recent completed school year.
