Mr. Wallingford
Grading scale
4 - Exceeds grade level expectations
3 - Meets grade level expectations
2 - Working toward grade level expectations
1 - Far below grade level expectations
I give out very few "4"s in achievement because I believe even if a student is doing very well, he/she is meeting the grade level expectation. I believe a "4" in achievement may also give parents the false perception that the curriculum is beneath their child or even perhaps that their child needs to boost up a grade level. I still do on occasion give an achievement "4" if I think the work is phenominal, but it is rare. Almost all students will receive a 2 or 3 in achievement each quarter in a given subject.
