Student Registration

New Student Registration
Students new to the Central Valley School District should visit their "home" school to complete the registration process. View the maps of enrollment boundaries to determine your home school. Registration occurs throughout the school year for students moving into the district in grades K-12. Registration is open now for the 2009/10 school year in all Central Valley schools. School begins September 8.

Be aware that your student may be transported to another school in the district, if classroom space is not available in your "home" school.

Kindergarten Registration
Families of students entering kindergarten are encouraged to visit the school your child will attend to register. Registration for Fall 2009 began March 5, 2009 at 8 a.m. Registration after March 5 will be available during school hours. To enroll in Kindergarten, the child must be five years of age on or before August 31. Newly-enrolling first grade students must be six years of age on or before August 31, unless they have previously attended a public or accredited private kindergarten.

Central Valley schools offer several Kindergarten options. Click here to learn more.

Come prepared to show the following documents to school officials:

  • Current Immunization Records
  • State-certified Birth Certificate (official document, not the souvenir certificate presented by some hospitals)
  • Proof of residence -- address verified by copy of current utility bill

The registration process is not complete until all immunizations are completed. Space cannot be held for students with incomplete immunizations.

Preschool and Early Childhood Programs
Registration for the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) is always open, based on space available. Call 228-5811.

Preschool classes are offered during the school year. Child care is available for children ages four weeks to twelve years old. For a list of locations and services provided at each, please contact the main program office at 228-5810.

School Choice (Transfer)
Students interested in attending a school outside their residential attendance area may apply to “choice” into another school in the Central Valley School District for the 2009-10 school year. The process is open to district residents and to students residing outside the Central Valley School District. Click here to read more about the school choice process for the 2009-10 school year.
