Mrs. Weaver

Classroom Environment

As a Literacy Facilitator, I provide direction, expertise and staff development in the areas of reading/writing and assessment to K-5 staff.

About Me

I grew up in Indiana, the “Hoosier” state. After I graduated from Purdue University where I earned a B.A. in Education and a Masters in Reading, I taught 3rd grade until I married and moved to Spokane. I started my teaching career in the Northwest as a 1st grade teacher in Post Falls, ID. For several years, I provided additional support to students in grades 2-6 as a reading specialist. I began teaching in Central Valley as a Reading Specialist at Ponderosa working with students in grades 1-3 and teaching an ELD, English Language Development, class for English Language Learners at North Pines Jr. High. In recent years, I have continued helping students in grades 1-3 become better readers and provided learning support for students in grades 4-5 to improve writing skills. My current position is Literacy Facilitator- supporting students and staff. I love to teach! When I was little, I even had a school for neighborhood kids in my garage! I also love to travel. I am the proud mom of two - Craig and Heather (now grown) and two dogs, Oatmeal and Mica. In my free time, I read, work out with a friend, enjoy the summers at Coeur D’Alene Lake, and visit family and friends in Indiana. Family is very important to me and I treasure the times I spend with them.
