Classroom Environment

I believe that every child wants to learn and will do so if given the opportunity. I will do my best to provide that opportunity and to ensure a safe, challenging and rewarding learning environment for my students. I believe in positive support and reinforcement, including verbal and written acknowledgment. I expect each student to do his or her best each day.

About Me

I graduated from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1975. My teaching career began in 1976 at University Elementary in Spokane Valley. In 1979 I transferred to Ponderosa Elementary and helped to open its doors to the community. Through the years I have taught grades 3-6th. At present I am very happy and thankful to be teaching fifth grade.

This year our family was blessed with the birth of our first grandchild...Ava! It is a wonderful experience. We have to grown daughters, Ashley and Mollie...and one very special son-in-law, Jon. For enjoyment I like to golf, read good books, knit, work in my garden and sip lattes with family and friends.
