GRADING AND CORRECTING
In our class we strive for the BIG MAC!
BIG MAC (4) This is a job beyond what the teacher or assignment has required. Very neat, lots of color, extra ideas or work included.
BURGER (3) This is doing exactly what the teacher or assignment has required. The work is neat. JUNIOR BURGER (2) This is doing some of the things required. It may be slightly messy and missing one or two of the required items. BABY BURGER (1) This is an unacceptable job. It is messy. Many required items are not there. This assignment should be redone. *The number on the top of the paper will indicate what kind of Burger job has been done! Corrections - If the child makes a mistake, the mistake will be circled. The child should correct the mistake with your guidance. (Please don’t tell the answer, help them discover it.) I try to circle in green with the idea: “Green is for growing.” We all make mistakes, but we try our best to grow or learn from them. If a lot of mistakes are made, I’ll have the child correct them so they don’t learn the concept incorrectly. Don’t be surprised to see erasures and correct answers with circles around them, it means they have figured out the correct answer and have changed the wrong answer to the right one! You will know because the Burger rating will change. If I have corrected an answer wrong, please let me know by sending it back and showing me where. I’ll try my best, but sometimes things are missed. Look for corrected papers coming home in the Friday Folder. Return to Classroom Information Page |
