Modified School Hours for 2008-09

Students in 18 Central Valley schools will be attending school on a slightly modified schedule beginning September 4, 2008. The changes to school start and dismissal times will reduce the bus wait time for students at the end of the school day. A survey conducted by Central Valley’s transportation department shows the average bus wait time for younger students is about 20 minutes after dismissal, although the wait ranged from eight to 38 minutes. The schedule adjustments will create a 25-30 minute gap between the dismissal times of the district’s high schools, middle and elementary schools.

The district-wide one-hour late start for collaboration time will remain in effect on Thursdays, beginning September 11, 2008
