Classroom Environment

I love to work with my students in a one-on-one or small group environment. My room is small, but comfortable. I expect the children that I work with to have fun and work hard to improve their speech abilities. We will fill our time with laughter and learning.

Schedule

I am currently at Liberty Lake Elementary full-time.

About Me

This is my third year here at Liberty Lake Elementary and I never want to leave. I live in Spokane with my husband, our Cavalier King Charles puppy named Ike and our cat McKinley. I am a graduate of both the University of Washington and Washington State University. I wear purple and gold and cheer with Harry the Husky, no matter how poorly they play.

Homework

Our speech sessions here at school are short, so practicing speech skills at home is very important. Practicing speech at home doesn't have to be long but it should be fun! Here are some ideas:

(Be sure to use your good speech sounds and language skills while practicing!)

Read a story together and try to stump eachother by asking questions.
Say the days of the week, months of the year, seasons, etc.
Practice saying the names of your family members (and your pets).
Recite a favorite nursery rhyme or sing a favorite song.
Use your spelling words in sentences.
Talk about one event that occurred at school each day.

Parent Handouts for various speech deficits.
