Theme Four - Amazing Animals

In this theme, students will read fiction and nonfiction stories about amazing animals.  In the Phonics lessons, the students will learn about r-controlled vowels; words with nd, nt, mp, ng, nk; base words with endings -s, -es, -ies and the vowel pairs oa and ow.  Monitor/ Clarify; Question; and Summarize are the Reading Strategies we will focus on in this theme. The Key Comprehension skills in this theme are Drawing Conclusions, Text Organization and Cause and Effect.
