Class Expectations

General Expectations:

RESPECT: Yourself, other students, teachers, and guests.  Respect all personal and school property.  The teacher’s desk is not a part of student property.  Please do not sit on, touch anything on the desk, or get into the desk for any reason without my permission.
Use the bathroom, get drinks, etc. before class begins.  YOU NEED TO BE IN YOUR SEAT AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME.
Bring all math materials to class; No one can go back to their lockers.
Absolutely no horse play will be tolerated.
Use all equipment, tools, and materials as they are designed to be used.
Students are dismissed by the teacher not the bell.  Remain in your seat until dismissed.  It is your responsibility to clean the desk and floor around your desk before you are dismissed.
Not following these expectations or school wide expectations may result in any of the following consequences.  Verbal warning, held after class, detention, phone call home, parent conference, or referral to office.  Seriousness of infraction or frequency of infractions will determine consequence.

GRADING:
Grades will be based on participation, classwork/homework, tests/quizzes, and entry task notebooks.  There may be projects as well for some units of study.
All assignments need to be turned in at required time.  Late work is not accepted.  It is the student’s responsibility to ask for make-up work when returning from an excused absence (two days will be allowed for make-up for each day of absence).  Assignments will be posted on a calendar in the classroom, and as much as possible on my school webpage.
Copying off of someone or allowing someone to copy off of your paper will result in a zero on that assignment/assessment.
I will be available before and after school as my schedule permits and will also be posted in the classroom.

Cell phone and MP3 players are not to be seen, heard, or used during class and will be taken away and given to the office by the end of school.
