Classroom Environment

The end of another school year... and the end of my teaching career. I have enjoyed all 36 years and will miss all the wonderful children and families that I have encountered in those years.

I'm planning to do some subbing in my retirement so I will look forward to seeing some of those familiar faces in the halls!

These last few weeks are the busiest of the year. On May 15, Allstate Insurance spent the day with us as part of their Junior Achievement Program. Here is our volunteer, Andrea Brown, doing a lesson with the class about communities. Thank you, Allstate!

June 1 is Art on the Green where you can view some of the projects the children have done during the year and be entertained by our own kindergarten and the Greenacres Marimba Group.

June 8 is our Greenacres Parent Volunteer Dessert and June 14 is Literacy Day. Lots of fun reading activities planned for that day.

June 15 will be the talent show and June 16 is Playday.

The last day of school will be June 19. You will be receiving information on dismissal times for that day. You will be getting information at the end of August about your child's placement for next year. I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Thanks again for sharing your children with me these many years!!

About Me

This is my 36th year of teaching in Central Valley, but also my last as I will be retiring at the end of this year. I will miss all the wonderful families I have worked with over the years in CV. I have taught Kindergarden, 1st Grade, and currently 2nd Grade.

I have two children of my own and two grandchildren that I plan to spend a lot of time with in my retirement.

I like to read, garden, spend time with friends, and travel.

Schedule

In the morning, we do our language arts block. Math, science, social studies, handwriting and specials are all in the afternoon.

Mondays and Wednesdays are Health and Nutrition and Tuesdays and Thursdays are Music. On Friday, we have Library and Computer Lab.
