Roadrunner Fit for Bloomsday Club
GREENACRES ELEMENTARY
Roadrunner “Fit For Bloomsday” Club
This is a morning exercise/activity opportunity for students at GES. Here are 3 great reasons to participate:
1. Current brain research shows a strong correlation between regular aerobic exercise and student academic success.
2. For the HEALTH of it: The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that children get a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
3. It’s FUN!
Students who turn in a permission slip will participate every Tuesday morning from 8:15- 8:45a.m. - beginning February 5th. The final day is May 8th.
Information
The class will be run by both Mr. Collyer and Mrs. Garnsey. The activities will be cardio-respiratory endurance activities help improve your student’s fitness level.
Students will also begin getting “Fit for Bloomsday” and will work on their distance running ability. We are hoping that Greenacres will have a large Bloomsday turn-out, and this is a super way to get ready! Even if your child is not running Bloomsday we still hope they join the club.
Students will be doing activities that are both inside the gym and outside (weather permitting) and it is crucial that the proper athletic attire is worn! We hope to see as many Roadrunners as we can!!
This will be a great lead-up to the annual Bloomsday Race on May 5th! We hope to see you there!
