Here's what to expect for the next few weeks in 6th Grade Social Studies:

Ancient Rome test on Wednesday, June 2!!!!!

Social Studies Guiding Questions (for all ancient civilizations):

1. How did the physical geography contribute to the political, economic, and cultural development of China?
2. What stimulated the movement of goods, people and ideas?
3. How did religion and government affect people?
4. How and why did laws develop in ancient civilizations?          
5. What contributions did ancient the civilization make, past and present?

Reading Goal:

  • How does thinking about what we already know help us to learn something new?
  • How can our questions (inquiries) drive us to learn?
  • How do we infer when reading non-fiction text?
  • How do I determine what is important (what is the author trying to tell me?) in my reading????
