Expectations in Mrs. Downie’s Room:
Getting class started…- Walk into the room with my planner, homework and book!
- Grab my Math/Science binder
- Walk to my desk
- Be working on my Problem Solving or Math Spiral notebook BEFORE the bell rings. If I am not…I will be considered tardy!
- I will work quietly on my entry task. If I am talking, I am discussing the entry task with a close neighbor quietly.
- When I am finished, I will respect my neighbor and not talk.
- When I am finished, I will write my homework down in my planner!
During class: - I will sharpen my pencil, get a drink, and throw away garbage only when we are working independently or during group work.
- I need to be listening to my teacher and classmates when my teacher is teaching, when we’re having a class discussion, or when my classmates are asking questions. This is not a time to start talking with your neighbor.
- I will be working on independent work or group work in the classroom and will stay on task. The volume during this time will always be appropriate indoor volume. I will never shout across the room.
Before you leave: - Check to see if you have written down your homework in your planner.
- Make sure I have my homework to take home!
- Wait for Mrs. Downie to dismiss me.
