Central Valley School District owns five pieces of property as "reserve sites" for future schools. These undeveloped sites include:

  • 44th & Bates Road -- 17.71 acres
  • 16th & Henry Road -- 48.92 acres
  • Mission & Long Road -- 16.20 acres
  • Boone & Ormond (next to Liberty Lake Elementary) -- 23.85 acres

City of Liberty Lake to Develop Athletic Fields on Vacant School Site - November 2007
Central Valley School District and the City of Liberty Lake are in the final stages of an initiative to develop athletic fields for community use on a portion of the school district's undeveloped 23.85-acre site, adjacent to Liberty Lake Elementary. Liberty Lake residents and city officials approached the school district early in 2007 with a request to build baseball and soccer fields before a school is constructed on the site.

The School Board approved the concept and hired an architectural firm to design the layout of the future site, to ensure these athletic fields do not infringe upon a future school site. This final design includes athletic fields and adequate space for a future school.

As agreed, the City of Liberty Lake will construct and maintain the athletic fields at city expense. Site improvements are expected to begin in early 2008. Responsibility of the fields will shift from the City of Liberty Lake to Central Valley School District when a school is built on the site.
