North Pines Middle School Celebrates 60 Years
It has been 60 years since the groundbreaking of North Pines Middle School in 1948. The school plans to celebrate this milestone on May 29 at 6 p.m.
Students and staff are planning “A Celebration of Learning” event for current and former students, parents, faculty and anyone with ties to the Central Valley school. The Celebration of Learning will feature student-prepared displays demonstrating each student’s evidence of learning through the use of technology. The school band, choir and drama students will perform. The school’s English Language Development (ELD) students will celebrate their ethnic backgrounds and all participants will enjoy cake and refreshments. In addition, the school will recognize and welcome former teachers, staff and administrators in attendance.
The school secured a $1,000 Community Outreach Grant from the Washington Education Association Eastern Washington Council to purchase materials and supplies for the event.
