Now Playing - 'Tintypes’ at Central Valley High School
The Central Valley High School theatre department is presenting the musical revue “Tintypes” for seven performances at the Central Valley Performing Arts Center, 821 S. Sullivan Road in the Central Valley School District.
“Tintypes” transports the audience to a turbulent turn-of-century America struggling with economic and social disparities, yet bustling with innovation and patriotism. This music-filled journey is told through more than 52 songs and dance numbers that explore the rich ragtime, gospel and “tin-pan alley” musical traditions of the era. The production takes place March 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $7 in the Central Valley High School business office.
The audience will explore the issues of the era by following five archetypes, played by 11th graders Emily Hansen, Jared Mola, Jack Sorensen, Devey Thurber and Kaelee Toth. The production is choreographed and directed by Michael Muzatko, art, music and drama teacher at Central Valley High School. Mark Sorenson and Keith Peterson provide the music direction.
