Central Valley Administrators Honored with State Library Media Award

Two Central Valley School District administrators received the Special Recognition Award from the Washington Library Media Association (WLMA). Assistant Superintendent Lise Louer and retired administrator Carol Peterson were presented with the honor at the WLMA annual awards reception and banquet on October 12 in Yakima, Wash.

Louer joined Central Valley School District in 2000. Her career in education has included experience as a teacher and administrator. Peterson retired this spring after serving the district for 40 years, most recently as an executive director of teaching and learning. Louer and Peterson were nominated by the media specialists in the district’s elementary schools for the award.

WLMA Awards are given to professionals or paraprofessionals who have provided outstanding service and support to the Library Media program, in order to achieve a school's instructional goals. The WLMA is a professional organization consisting of school librarians, regional media directors, academic library/media faculty, and others responsible for providing school library and media services at the building, district and educational service district (ESD) levels.
