CVSD Middle Schools “Fill the Bus” and Reach Food Drive Goal
Nearly 100 students from Bowdish, Evergreen, Greenacres, Horizon and North Pines middle schools worked through the day on November 19 to “Fill the Bus” with canned and packaged food, frozen turkeys and cash donations to benefit the Spokane Valley Partners Food Bank. Positioned outside five different grocery store locations across the Valley, the Central Valley students reached their goal to beat last year’s impressive totals. This year’s food drive collected:
• 14,395 pounds of canned and packaged food
• 129 frozen turkeys
• $2,553 in cash donations
All five Central Valley middle schools have been hosting the “Fill the Bus” food drive since 2005.
