While many Central Valley employees were enjoying a break over the summer months, five dedicated employees were leading the district’s efforts to continue serving kids. The Central Valley School District Board of Directors honored these employees during their August 22 meeting.
Central Valley School District’s 2005 Summer Nutrition Program served free meals to more than 5,000 hungry children during the summer months. Children enjoyed a nutritious breakfast and lunch, served by food service veterans Mary Beuhl and Melody Lunden. These kind and caring ladies welcomed children to Opportunity Elementary and served hundreds of meals -- with a smile.
Hundreds of students participated in Central Valley School District’s Summer School, offering academic programs for students in grades 1-12. These programs were made possible through the dedicated leadership of three individuals. Ellen Hopkins served as Elementary “Kids’ College” Summer Program principal, Molly Carolan was principal of the Middle School “Project Learning 2005” Summer program and Keven Frandsen led the High School Summer Program. Summer Sports Camps were also very successful in Central Valley schools during summer 2005. Thanks and congratulations to all!
